Privacy Policy — The_Game.exe
The_Game.exe ("the app", "we") is a social novelty app operated by Tiny Objects Software. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work:
- Account — when you sign in with Apple, we receive your name. We do not request your email address. We create a profile with your display name and a unique username you choose, and a user identifier.
- Game data — the parties you belong to, your loss counts and timestamps, activity you generate (e.g. "you lost The Game"), and any optional short message you attach when you lose. Party names, usernames, and loss messages are visible to other members of your parties.
- Device token — a push-notification token, so we can notify your parties.
- Purchases — which cosmetic items you've unlocked. In-app purchases are processed by Apple; we store only what you own, not your payment details.
- Diagnostics — crash reports and basic device/OS info (via Firebase Crashlytics) to fix bugs.
We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone, or photos (a custom wallpaper you pick stays on your device and is never uploaded). We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we show no advertising. There is no third-party ad or analytics SDK.
Why we use it
To authenticate you, run the game (parties, cooldowns, the leaderboard), send push notifications, process cosmetic purchases, keep the service secure (Firebase App Check), and diagnose crashes.
Legal basis (GDPR)
We process account and game data to perform our contract with you (providing the app), and diagnostics/security on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and safe. You can withdraw by deleting your account.
Who processes it
The app runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, App Check) acting as our processor, in the europe-west1 region, and uses Apple for Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and push delivery (APNs). We do not sell your data.
Retention & deletion
You can delete your account inside the app (Config → Account → Delete account). This anonymizes your profile, frees your username, removes your devices, friendships and party memberships, and deletes your authentication record. Crash diagnostics are retained per Firebase's defaults.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your data. EU/UK users have rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Portugal, the CNPD). To exercise them, contact hello@tinyobjects.studio.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
